It’s been a little quiet in the On Targett Events office over the last few weeks.
No, we’ve not taken a holiday, but have been volunteering with the Army Cadet Force. Three of our staff joined 80 others from across Buckinghamshire to deliver a two week training camp for 240 cadets.
The Army Cadet Force is an MoD Sponsored youth organisation, with 39,000 cadets spread across 1600 detachments. Those cadets are supported by 9500 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, who give their time to train and support the growing cadet numbers.
Each year, cadets attend an annual camp lasting between 1 and 2 weeks. This year, Buckinghamshire ACF visited Chickerell Training Camp in Dorset.
Activities on offer included military subjects such shooting, fieldcraft and navigation, along with adventurous training activities like sailing, stand Up paddleboarding and coasteering.
