We are a little too excited about our latest addition – Laser Tag!
Every year, starting around September, we start to look for new activities to add to our line up. This year we were sent a link to a Laser Tag system and couldn’t resist the trip down to Devon to have a chat with the owner and try the system out!
FragTag
The system is made by an Australian manufacturer, FragTag, and has been designed for the tough Australian conditions. Each Laser Tag Gun weighs 3.5kgs and has a tough cast aluminium body. In addition to the Laser guns there are a range of extras to enhance the battles, things like medic packs, countdown timers and even trip wires, all to make the experience a little more fun. The system even has its own working Minigun!
Each of the 30 Laser Tag guns has a range of 120m and has 3 fire modes; allowing single shot, burst or fully automatic laser fire. The guns are also weather tight allowing games to take place in all conditions. As with other Laser Tag systems, players are required to wear a sensor on their heads, however the bonus with the FragTag system is that this headband is wireless, meaning no tangled wires when trying to move stealthily about.
Game Play
Game play is enhanced with the on field extras, like the medic packs that are carried by the team and used to add health to the players as they go. Or the trip mines which can be placed in the game arena, which can be set to go off when a pull cord it tripped, or to leak “radiation” and deny players the ability to stay too long in certain positions. The system even boasts a 5 barrel Minigun which is fully functioning and has a massive rate of fire.
Needless to say, we were impressed and the system and it is now back at OTE HQ and ready for it’s first big event!
The system can be booked out for events all year round and can be used both indoors and out. The package will come complete with sufficient weapons for up to 30 players at a time, as well as an inflatable game field if no suitable natural areas are available. Further information can be found here
